Earlier this week OpenAI introduced a new series of reasoning models for solving harder, more complex problems.

This new series is designed to spend more time thinking through problems before it responds, much like a human would. They can reason through complex tasks and solve harder problems than previous models in areas such as science, coding and maths.

Through training, this new series of models will learn to refine their thinking process, try different strategies, and recognise their mistakes.
